What is The Sleeter Group Conference?

The Sleeter Group's Accounting Solutions Conference empowers accountants and consultants with the knowledge and essential tools necessary to be successful in the accounting software consulting market. You will learn in-depth technical skills from the country's leading expert advisory group while networking with hundreds of colleagues, industry experts, and hardware and software developers. How well do I need to know QuickBooks and/or other accounting software to attend the conference?

There are no prerequisites for attending the conference, but the conference is not intended to teach the basics of QuickBooks or other accounting software. The conference is packed with consulting topics such as evaluating, installing, troubleshooting, and supporting accounting software. The conference focuses on QuickBooks and products that integrate with QuickBooks, but also includes topics on many other products in the market.

I already know a lot about accounting solutions. Should I attend?

Absolutely! Over 80% of our attendees have attended previously. Even if you're already an expert, this conference will provide you with an opportunity to increase your knowledge, establish contacts with other consultants, learn how to grow your revenues and enhance your reputation with your clients. You will also earn up to 8 CPE credits per day.

Is the conference "hands-on" using computers?

No. We use a "big screen" presentation method. The conference materials that you will receive includes detailed information coordinated with the presentations on the big screen. You are welcome to bring your laptop to the conference, but please note that you are responsible for keeping your laptop secure.

Will you be offering this conference again?

The conference is an annual event. Sign up for our mailing list to be sure to receive future seminar and conference information.

Will your products be available for purchase at the conference?

Yes, you will have the opportunity to preview and purchase our products at the conference. Orders received at the conference will be shipped following the conference. You will receive a conference discount on many products ordered within 30 days of the conference. We offer free shipping to conference attendees on product orders received within 72 hours following the conference. These discounts are not available before the conference even if you are registered. Will I be given information about The Sleeter Group Consultants Network at the conference?

Yes, we will distribute information about joining the Network and becoming Sleeter Group Certified. However, you can read all about the program now on our Become a Consultant Page. If you join the network prior to registering for the conference, you will receive a discount on your registration fees (on both the pre-conference and the main conference). The Sleeter Group Consultants Network discount is 20% off regular fees on either the early bird or regular price for the conference!

Can I receive CPE credits for attending the conference?

The Sleeter Group is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).You may receive up to 8 CPE per day of attendance. The Sleeter Group is also registered with the IRS for Enrolled Agents.

For what CPE "Subject Matter" category does this conference meet the criteria?

Credits (through NASBA) are in the subject area of "Specialized Knowledge & Applications".

Do you offer CPEs for Enrolled Agents?

Yes. We are registered with the Internal Revenue Service for Enrolled Agents.

What is the program level of the Conference?

The program level of the Conference is "Advanced". This is an intermediate level course designed for consultants.

Are there any prerequisites for the Conference?

Attendees should have a knowledge of, and work with clients who use, accounting software. No advanced preparation is required.

What type of delivery method will be used?

This is a live group meeting.

How do I register for the conference?

Registration for the 2010 conference will open in the late spring.

How much does the conference cost?

When can I check in for the Conference on-site?

You can register onsite the morning of the first day. Detailed instructions for check in will be provided to you when the conference nears.

I want to bring other people from my firm. Do we get a discount?

If you are attending the conference and would like to bring others from your firm, you may qualify for a group discount. A group is three or more people from the same firm. Please register using our online system under the primary attendee, either at the primary attendee's initial registration or later on. Or you may call our office to add attendees. I am not able to attend the conference at this time. Are the conference materials available for sale?

Conference materials are only available for conference attendees. We have many QuickBooks resource products available at the Sleeter Group Store.

I can't make it to the conference. Can someone else go in my place?

Substitutions are allowed and can be made online through October 29th.

I cannot attend the conference at this time. Do you offer any other CPE eligible materials?

What materials do I receive at the conference?

Prior to the Conference, you will receive a web link to detailed session descriptions (and PDFs of the handouts) which you can browse to help you make a decision about which session to attend.

Onsite, we will provide printed hand outs. If you do not attend a session, please do not take the session materials from the room; instead print them out at your office or in the Cyber Café on-site.

Do you have a money-back guarantee?

Our conference is 100% money-back guaranteed. If you decide that this conference is not right for you, notify a Sleeter Group on site representative on the first day of the Conference and return your materials. We will issue a full refund within 14 business days.

What is your cancellation policy?

Full refunds will be issued if written cancellation is received by August 6, 2010. Refunds less a $55 cancellation fee, per person, will be issued on written requests received by October 9, 2009. No refunds or credits will be given after October 6, 2010. Substitutions are allowed and can be made online.

What about airfare?

We have found that most people like to book their own travel arrangements, so airfare is not included in the conference price. We have arranged discounts for airfare and rental cars. Go to the Travel & Area Attractions Page for promotion codes and more information.

When should I plan on arriving for the conference?

We recommend that you arrive a day in advance of the conference so you can register and be ready for the early start the next morning.

What type of food will be served at the conference?

We will do our best to offer a wide variety of food and beverage selections at Conference meals. Please email info@sleeter.com if you have any special dietary needs.

How should I dress? What should I bring with me?

Business casual attire is appropriate for all Conference activities. Since meeting room temperatures vary, we recommend that you bring a sweater or jacket to the sessions. Also, bring a lot of business cards for prize drawings and networking with your fellow attendees.

May I bring a guest to the Reception?

You may purchase a guest registration ticket for one guest which will include all after hour receptions. You may purchase a guest ticket when you register online for the event. Guest reception tickets are $25. Limited to one guest per attendee.

What is the Sleeter Group Consultants Network dinner? Can I bring a guest?

If you are a member of The Sleeter Group Consultants Network, you are invited to attend this member's only dinner. If you have not already registered to attend the dinner, you may do so now by clicking here to review and update (modify) your registration record. If you would like to bring a guest to the dinner, please call our office or email info@sleeter.com with your guest name and they will be placed on a waiting list (first come first served to ensure that all SGCN members have an opportunity to attend the dinner). Dress for the dinner will be business casual.
